Jogni Waterfall, Manali, Himachal Pradesh

Even though I have travelled beyond Manali in the past somehow I never got a chance to explore this otherwise touristy destination. And, when I did my research Jogini fall trek took the top spot in the list because of its proximity and the adventure on the way. I have to admit, this medium-difficult trek of almost 2 hrs each side on an unladen path was worth the experience. Surprisingly I haven’t heard any of my friends doing this trek. No wonder this spot was secluded when I reached there. Would definitely recommend fellow travelers to attempt this trek.

Jogini Waterfall Overview

Jogini Waterfall is located in the beautiful Valley of Manali, about 3 kilometres away from the bustling town and around 2 kilometres away from the famous Vashisht Temple. If you want to take a pit stop, there are restaurants on the route serving local snacks with a piping hot cup of Chai. The captivating waterfall is considered as one of the most romantic attractions in Manali, thronged by couples. How To Reach Jogini Waterfalls Trek?

The trek basically starts from Vashist Temple and from there the falls is only 04 kms / 06 hours of walk to and fro.

  • Reach Vashisht Temple
  • Ask locals for the route
  • Enroute you will find tattoo houses and yoga centres
  • Follow the billboards
  • And finally you will reach Jogini falls

First, reach the famous Vashisht temple which is kind of a landmark in Manali. From there, you can ask any local out there about the route. They will guide you the route of the falls. Follow the path, which will lead you to a small village with Himachali home on either side. You will also cross some tattoo shops and Yoga centres as well. As soon as you cross the village, follow the billboards directing towards the Jogini falls. Enroute you will also fine some zip lining spots with alpine forest on one size and the Beas river on your other side.

Soon after some time, you will hear the roar of the falls.

Note: It’s a 04 kms hike from Vashisht Temple. However, the duration of the hike may varies from 04 to 06 hrs depending on your fitness level.

The route to Jogini falls can be termed an easy level trek. Allthough, from the base point there is another route that you may take to reach the pinnacle of the falls. But this one is a little bit risky and tough as well.

Here, to reach the top of the falls, you will have to climb slippery rock with the waterfall on one side and gorge on another. It may take an hour or two to reach there. It’s a little bit tough for many and risky but an experience to have.

Suggestion: Would suggest you to hire a guide for this. Charges may vary between 200 to 400 INR per head.
